What is Connect @?

Connect @ EIBTM is an online service which allows exhibitors and visitors who signed up for the event to continue to make business connections after the event.

Connect @ is made up of 6 components:

The Connect @ Toolbar
When you are logged into Connect @ the toolbar appears on all pages, ensuring you can always access the features of Connect @.

Your Profile
Allows you to manage your email preferences, update your photo and profile and select your profiling criteria.

Find Visitors
Everyone who registered for the 2010 event, and opted into Connect @, can be be found in the visitor search. The visitor search allows you to filter by product interest, job function and company activity.

Find Exhibitors
The enhanced exhibitor search allows you to add exhibitors to your favourites or email them directly. You can do this directly from the results pages or when viewing an exhibitors full profile.

Messages
A record of all messages you have sent or received are stored in the Your Messages inbox. Clicking on each message title will display the full conversation and allow you to view each persons profile.

Favourites
Allows you to shortlist visitors, exhibitors and content to create your own shortcuts. You can add any page, author or rights available listing, podcast or seminar into your favourites for easy access. Favourites make it easier to send messages to exhibitors or visitors you want to keep track of.

The Connect @ Toolbar

Once you have logged into Connect @ you will see the toolbar appear at the top of the page. This will appear as long as you are logged in, allowing you immediate access to your messages, profile and favourites as well as the visitor and exhibitor searches.

Updating your Profile

Click into the Profile section of Connect @ using the toolbar towards the top of the page. Give yourself a brief description to help other users of Connect @ to chose whether you are the correct contact to make. You can also amend your job title, company name and other parts of your Connect @ Profile.

You can also make your account inactive and to remove yourself from the visitor search here.


Find Visitors

Click on the Find Visitors link on the Connect @ toolbar. You can use the text search to find people by their name, job title or company name.

Within the displayed results each person will display their name, job title, company name and any available profile or photo and 2 icons:

Click on the star to add this person to your favourites

Click on the speech bubble to send this person a message

Click on their name or photo to view their full Connect @ profile

Finding Exhibitors

Use the Find Exhibitors option on the Connect @ toolbar to display the EIBTM 2010 Exhibitor Directory. You can perform a normal text search or filter by product category, show sector or country to find exhibitors that will be attending EIBTM this year. Each exhibitor that is part of Connect @ will have an additional icon in the results page: Add to Favourites

If you would like to contact an exhibitor directly, please click on the exhibitor's profile and select "Contact This Exhibitor".  This will send an email directly to the exhibitor.

Please note, exhibitors do not have access to Connect @ and therefore will not be able to send messages to you via this tool.  If you would like the exhibitor to reply to your message please remember to include your contact email address.


Using your Messages

All messages you send to Connect @ users will appear in Your Messages alongside all messages sent direct to you.

All your messages will be date ordered, with the most recent conversation at the top of the page. Click on the subject line to read the full conversation. Each conversation will contain both your messages and the other users messages.

Unread messages can be noted by a closed envelope icon.

If an existing conversation is updated, either by you sending a new message or the other user replying, the conversation will move to the top of Your Messages. An existing conversation with a new message will appear with a number next to the user's name and the envelope icon will be closed .

Clicking on the name or photo of the sender will take you to view that person's profile where you can see more about them.


Using Favourites

Within Your Favourites you can store any visitor, exhibitor or website information you want to keep track of.

But it doesn't stop there. You can add any page on the website, seminars, blogs, or show news stories.
On all these pages you will either see the words "add to your favourites" or the start icon .

You can go back and review your selected favourites at any time and even have them emailed to you.
