1. A brief overview / description of what your product or service is.
Leebug is a SaaS productivity solution for conferences that offers networking tools for attendees, branding tools for sponsors and revenue generating tools for event producers. Turn-key, highly customizable event communities can be created by event producers on the platform and offered to their delegates. Our mobile app provides delegates a digital event guide and integration with the event communities. Leebug charges no upfront fee for our services, but rather we offer revenue sharing opportunities for any sponsor advertising, such as virtual booths and mobile ads, sold on the platform. Delegates can network and build connections with anyone on the platform, across any event.
2. How your product / service will meet customer's requirements, fulfil a need or solve a problem
Event producers are looking use technology to improve delegate networking and provide their sponsors and exhibitors with avenues for additional branding. The problem is that general solutions such as LinkedIn Groups are too generic, and cannot be monetized, while custom solutions are too costly.
Leebug is turn-key, customizable, and uses cutting edge technology to provide event specific networking communities to conferences at no upfront cost, making it accessible to all professional events. In addition, we have the platform simple and user friendly for both event producers and their delegates as we know one of the barriers to using technology is complexity.
3. What is unique or innovative about your product?
The Leebug platform has 3 distinct features that differentiate us from competitors in the space - we consider our competitors those who custom build event communities for conferences.
1. Leebug is a seamlessly integrated web and mobile platform. We have powerful event communities for online networking, and a fully featured app that functions as a digital event guide and a mobile networking solution.
2. Our business model. We charge no upfront fee to the event producers for our service, but rather do a revenue share on any virtual booths or sponsor advertising sold on the platform.
3. Leebug is a multi-event platform. Each event community and their delegates are connected within the Leebug ecosystem, allowing users to network and promote themselves to anyone using the platform.
4. What impact does your product have, or aim to have, on meeting professionals and the meetings/events industry?
Leebug provides event producers a cost effective tool to enhance their events through advanced, easy to use, event specific technology. We know that this type of technology is being used by less than 20% of the industry and by offering the product with no upfront cost and no downside risk, we can bring our state of the art version of this technology to everyone.
The aim for Leebug is to be the leader in SaaS event networking technology for the meetings industry. We want our technology to power all conferences worldwide, and we want our users to leverage every element of the conference ecosystem using the platform and harness these resources to their advantage.
This includes making meetings more productive and efficient for attendees, creating a supercharged branding experience for sponsors/exhibitors and giving event producers new ways to earn revenue while giving their clients these great tools.
5. Please provide an outline of the product/service development so far, and how successful this has been:
Leebug is fully operational and we have partnered with over 25 event producers and have hosted numerous events worldwide. We expect to host over 100 events on the platform in 2011 and have a client retention rate of over 90%. Leebug has gotten an enthusiastic reception from everyone we have shown it to, and we continue to grow as word of mouth spreads.
In addition to the technology, we have provided exceptional customer service to all of our clients, and have been very responsive to their input and feedback in order to constantly evolve the platform.
A number of the current features on the platform are a direct results of this feedback including event producer branding on the site, v-booth raffles that promote audience engagement and a log-in widget that event producers can put on their site so their delegates can navigate the event community from their site.
6. Please give an indication of pricing for using the technology product/service. Be specific as possible(e.g the pricing for an example event with xxx attendees.)
Event producers can set up a custom event community on the Leebug platform for no charge. There is also no charge for delegates to use the system. Virtual booths, an interactive advertising tool, can be purchased by sponsors to promote themselves online. Virtual booths can be either purchased directly on the website for $200 or though the event producer, and Leebug would then invoice the producer $200. Leebug will split revenue of website purchases with the event producer, crediting them with a $100 for each virtual booth purchased by their delegates. Banner ads in the event communities and on the mobile app work in much the same way. White labelling of the Leebug software is available on per case scenario.
7. What research have you carried out to establish that there is a need for your product or service?
Leebug was founded by experienced professionals who have produced events for many years. They found the current event networking technology available was either too generic or too costly to employ. It turns out they weren’t the only ones having this issue. Over the past two years we have talked to hundreds of event producers that are trying to find a solution between a group on LinkedIn and a custom solution that they have to maintain.
There is a near unanimous consensus that the Leebug tools are necessary now and that our business model is attractive. We have found our niche in servicing B2B professional events, and have not attempted to service exhibitions or large tradeshows. We have partnered with over 25 event producers and expect to host over 100 events on the platform by 2011 and are fielding new inquiries every day so believe that there is a current and growing need for our product.
8. What do you see as being the next stages in the product/service development?
We see the next stages in getting the word out to all the event producers that we are here; our software can enhance their event events and our business model can earn them additional revenue. We will continue to add new features to both the website and mobile app, and have been receptive and creating features that clients value.
Our road map includes hosting perpetual event communities for event producers to maintain ongoing delegate engagement through video and premium content. We will be enhancing our app in tandem with technological advancements in HTML 5, and include such features as exhibition booth check-ins and geo-location.
