Qualifying Criteria
To be accepted as Hosted Buyer, you must meet our strict qualifying criteria. During registration, you will be asked to provide details on:
- Number of international events held annually
- Purchasing Authority
- Annual Budget
- Amount of business conducted internationally
- Potential for future international business
- Reasons for attending
- One of our external qualifiers may contact you and/or appropriate travel suppliers to verify the information on your application.
Specific Qualifying Criteria for North American Buyers
All Hosted Buyers must fulfill the qualifying criteria set by EIBTM, which will include:
- The number of international events held annually
- Purchasing authority
- Annual budget
- Amount of business conducted internationally
- Potential for future international business
North American buyers must fall into one of the following five categories:
1. Association executives/meeting planners whose organizations have already established an ongoing international meeting track record, i.e., must recently have initiated and run their own stand-alone meetings/conferences in Africa, Europe, Latin America and/or AsiaPacific, and are seriously considering doing so again in 2010, 2011 or later.
2. Association Management Company executives/meeting planners whose clients have already established an ongoing international meeting track record, i.e., must recently have initiated and run their own stand-alone meetings/conferences in Africa, Europe, Latin America and/or Asia-Pacific, and are seriously considering doing so again in 2011 or 2012.
3. Corporate meeting planners whose organizations have already initiated and run their own stand-alone international meetings or incentive travel programs, i.e., must recently have run meetings/programs in Africa, Europe, Latin America and/or AsiaPacific, and are seriously considering doing so again in 2010 or 2011.
4. Incentive Travel House executives/planners whose clients have recently selected international destinations in Africa, Europe, Latin America and/or AsiaPacific for their incentive travel award programs, and are seriously considering doing so again in 2010 or 2011.
5. Independent meeting/third party planners who have a written endorsement from their North American client confirming their intention to use the services of the planner to help determine a site or venue in Africa, AsiaPacific, Latin America and/or Europe for a 2010 or 2011 meeting/conference. (Our North American qualifier may need a faxed copy of this endorsement and will follow up where necessary.)
N.B. For those North America-based applicants applying to EIBTM for the first time, please note that it will be necessary for our qualifier to seek authorisation to participate from each applicant’s supervisor.
