Canary Islands: Congresses, conventions and incentive travel
Organisations and companies both from Spain and abroad will find in the Islands a total of 13 centres and halls specifically designed for holding congresses, conventions, seminars, workshops and work-related meetings. These venues, which have become increasingly popular in the Islands, have positioned the region as a very attractive destination for combining education and training with a broad range of leisure and recreational activities. The archipelago is situated in the Atlantic Ocean, about two and a half hours flying time from the mainland of Spain and approximately four hours from main European capitals. There are eight airports providing constant connections with the European continent.
Infrastructure
• 13 centres consisting of six auditoriums, five convention centres and two congress and conference centres. The number of centres is due to increase in the near future.
• Hotels with halls suitable for conducting working sessions.
• All facilities are designed to provide maximum comfort and achieve maximum benefit from working sessions. They are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and include qualified personnel and companies providing ancillary services.
Complementary infrastructure and leisure activities
The Islands have an impressive network of inter-island and international transport infrastructure, consisting of eight airports (six of which are international) as well as shipping and overland transport. An added incentive for holding congresses and seminars in the Islands is the variety of recreational and leisure activities which allow participants to enjoy cultural and sports events, do a variety of sports, and enjoy the spa and wellness facilities, casinos, games halls and discos.
